Inidie Magazine
Indie is a quarterly video game magazine that focuses on what separates indie gaming from the rest of the industry. The magazine is dedicated to all aspects of the indie movement – unique mechanics, one of a kind art, devoted developers, fans and intriguing stories. Indie features thoughtful articles, captivating imagery, and a minimalist design style. As a lifelong gamer, I wanted to highlight a side of the industry that is often overshadowed by its AAA counterparts.

Project Problem
Indie games have seen a considerable jump in popularity in the last few years. As larger developers continue to put out unfinished and unsuccessful titles, gamers value the effort indie publishers put into their games more than ever. Developed by individuals, small teams and independent companies, Indie games have captured the hearts of millions with their unique mechanics, intriguing stories and devoted developers. Indie game fans are dedicated and often super passionate about the industry, but there aren’t many print options that speak directly to their interests. Magazines like PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World, and Game Informer address the gaming industry as a whole and often only provide their readers with a small spread or section focused on indie games.

Indie magazine engages and inspires its readers by providing unique stories that offer perspectives that speak to each user’s distinct needs and goals.
Design Direction

The Solution
